What is temporary email?

Temporary email provides an address for receiving messages for a limited time. With zipxmail, you create an inbox without registering a permanent account.

How it works

Create an address on an available domain and copy it into the service that will send you an email. Incoming messages appear in your inbox after delivery and processing.

zipxmail is receive-only. Each inbox has its own duration and connection password; other websites may still refuse the address.

Suitable short-term uses

  • Receive a short-lived confirmation message when the sending service accepts temporary addresses.
  • Test delivery in a development workflow using non-sensitive test data.
  • Separate short-term correspondence from a permanent inbox when long-term recovery is unnecessary.

When a permanent inbox is a better choice

Use a permanent email account for financial services, important personal records, ongoing customer relationships and account recovery. A temporary inbox can expire, become unavailable or be rejected by the sending website.

An inbox password limits access, but temporary email should not be described as absolute anonymity or immediate deletion of all records. Administrators retain historical data under the service policy.
